In line with our club’s philosophy of creating the best possible environment for our players, the selection and development of our coaching staff is of the outmost importance. We at CSC strive to provide our players with the best possible coaches to help them realize their potential not just as soccer players but as well as members of society.

This month we feature one of the best representatives of this philosophy, coach Chris Ahrens. Read on and get to know what makes Coach Ahrens such an important member of our coaching staff.

COACHING ASSIGNMENT(S): B2008 Red

COACHING LICENSES: USSF E License 

COACHING EXPERIENCE: Crusaders Soccer Club Boys 2008

PLAYER EXPERIENCE: 9 years on the United States Paralympic National Soccer Team, including two World Cups and the 2012 Paralympic Games in London.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN AT CSC? This is my first year coaching at CSC.

FAVORITE PLAYER AND WHY? I don’t have a specific favorite player. I just enjoy good great soccer and admiring the incredible skills of the best players out there!

COACHING HIGHLIGHTS: I don’t have any yet. I’m excited to begin my coaching journey and begin making memories with my fantastic players.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION ABOUT YOURSELF: I work as a teacher in the San Diego Unified School District. In addition to teaching I am the Chairperson for U.S. Soccer’s Athlete Council and serve on U.S Soccer’s Board of Directors. I am very excited to have the opportunity to coach at a club like CSC and work closely with the families and players who make this club special.
