Cheyne Davis, California Baptist University
Cheyne Davis, playing for the California Baptist Lancers, made his college soccer debut against La Verne University on September 4th. Cheyne played for CSC from 2008-2014. During his years at CSC, Cheyne trained with Coach Toumi, Coach Miramontes and Coach Tedesco. Upon exiting the competitive program at CSC and graduating from St. Augustine Catholic High School, Cheyne enrolled at California Baptist University.
CBU lost most of its offense from last year, giving this year’s freshmen an opportunity to make an immediate impact. Cheyne, forward, made his mark in the 38 minute in the game against La Verne University when he took possession of the ball from a defender, playing a quick pass to a teammate and then dribbling past two defenders and the goalkeeper. He finished his run with a shot on goal.
According to Gregg Schroeder, CBU Coach, “Cheyne had an unbelievable goal. It was an incredible individual effort for him to position himself well and press at exactly the right time.”
While the Lancers did not come out on top versus the Leopards, it is a hard fought game in which Cheyne Davis demonstrated his soccer skills while posting his first college goal.
